Clinical Practice Analyst
An LA County Hospital is currently looking for a full time Clinical Practice Analyst. Successful applicant should have a nursing or practice management background responsible for assessing, implementing and supporting the LSS/Meditech Medical Practice Management suite. Must have clinical systems analyst experience with at least 3 years health care IT experience. Advanced clinical Meditech experience in LSS Practice Management modules desired. Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EAR) within Physician's office highly desirable. Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent experience, plus 5 years minimum experience with Physician offices and/or Physician software applications. Position is full time (Mon-Fri).
Job Responsibilities:
- Project management of projects including implementations and migrations, development of project plans and coordinating resources for multi site and multi application system implementations
- Business process analysis and design, care plan and rules development
- Dictionary analysis and development, and parameter analysis and configuration, dictionary conversions, custom queries, screens and forms to support proposed work processes
- Software change management, analysis and triage of existing NPR reports and identification of existing client/server reports that may be required
- Provides support and advice to physicians and management.
- Utilizes the knowledge and skills of the health center practice to determine health center functions that are suitable for computer applications, and to ensure the information systems are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice.
- Analyses current and future health center requirements, procedures, and workflow, in order to provide LSS application solutions that support and improve organizational and/or departmental operations.
- Develops, implements, and maintains a positive working relationship with end user departments, physicians and health centers to ensure optimal utilization of the LSS and Meditech applications, while maintaining appropriate levels of end user training and knowledge. Develops and implements training materials/programs related to clinical applications and systems.
- Assists all levels of health center end users in the implementation of new practice management software and/or updates to existing software applications. Uses technical, operational, and procedural expertise to monitor and complete entire implementation process. Tailors software to meet physician’s needs.
- Assists all levels of health center end users in the resolution of the practice management software application problems, and accurately completes applicable tasks within requested time frames. Confers with health center end user departments, other IS management and staff, and external vendors, to communicate technical details, provide follow-up, and to request status updates.
- Acknowledges the ultimate responsibility is to directly or indirectly serve the needs of every patient as defined in the hospital mission statement.
Required Skills - Meditech implementation, upgrade and testing experience with multiple Meditech clinical and Practice Management applications
- Meditech implementation or migration project management experience
- Hospital or Physicians Office operations experience
- Intermediate NPR knowledge
- The ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors and physicians
- Excellent client relationship skills
DESIRED SKILLS: - Experience working with both LSS and Client Server client server platforms
- Formal project management training
- Prior experience with care plan and rules development, dictionary analysis and development, and parameter analysis and configuration
- Prior experience with dictionary conversions, custom queries, screens and forms to support proposed work processes
